Can diet cure acne?

The acne diet connection is extremely complicated.
There are no clear-cut answers to that question.
Diet has a significant effect on acne. And chances are you must change your diet, if you want to get rid of acne naturally. That said diet is just one part of the acne puzzle and diet alone may not be enough to clear acne.
Dermatologists often say diet has nothing to do with acne. And diet is often listed as a myth in acne books and websites.
However you should know that those statements are based on two flawed studies done in late sixties and early seventies. Those studies were so badly flawed that they prove absolutely nothing. They would have not accepted for publication today. And later studies point towards a clear link between diet and acne.
So when dermatologists say diet doesn't cause acne they are simply repeating a well accepted dogma. It has nothing to do with science. Before we get to using diet to cure acne you need to understand how diet causes acne.
How diet causes acne
In the what causes acne page I explained that acne is a result of blood sugar problems and inflammation. Diet can affect both. In fact, diet is one of the main factors behind both of them.
Diet and blood sugar problems
When your blood sugar levels swing too much it triggers a hormonal reaction that leads to:
Increased sebum production
More dead skin cells
Big lumps of dead skin cells
In other words blocked pores. I explain how this happens in blood sugar and acne page.
The main dietary causes of blood sugar problems are:
Eating too much fat. When you eat a high-fat meal the fat goes into your bloodstream. It blocks insulin receptors in the cells and thus increases insulin resistance.
Eating high glycemic index (GI) foods. High GI foods lead to sharp increases in blood sugar levels. The body has to respond by releasing large quantities of insulin, which often leads to crash in blood sugar levels. This is mostly an issue with processed and refined foods. Whole foods in their natural state, such as potatoes and fruits are not such a problem.
Eating too much. When you eat more calories than your body needs it converts the extra calories into fat. If this happens often the body develops insulin resistance to fight excess weight.
Food allergies and sensitivities. Eating foods you are allergic to triggers a response from the immune system (immune system response always means more inflammation). Eating inflammatory foods. Certain foods lead to increases in pro-inflammatory hormones. Vegetable oils, refined sugar, wheat (and other grains), dairy products and processed meats are the worst.
Chemicals in foods. The body treats preservatives, colors, additives and other chemicals in foods as toxins. They trigger an immune system response, which automatically leads to more inflammation. .

How to cure acne with diet

If you want to cure acne with diet you have two objectives:
Maintain stable blood sugar levels
Reduce inflammation
Maintaining stable blood sugar levels
To keep your blood sugar levels stable follow these two simple rules.
Low fat.
High fiber. Fiber in foods slows the absorption of sugar and helps to maintain stable blood sugar levels. Because of fiber most fruits, though high in sugar, don't cause sudden spikes in blood sugar levels.
Reducing inflammation
The simple rules for reducing inflammation with diet are.
Avoid inflammatory foods.
Get plenty of antioxidants. The body uses antioxidants to fight free radicals. Less free radicals, less inflammation. Fruits and vegetables are the best sources of antioxidants.
Eat foods rich in omega 3 and other essential fatty acids. With antioxidants omega 3 fatty acids can fight free radicals and inflammation. Good sources of omega 3 fatty acids are salmon and other fatty fishes and flax seeds.
Putting it all together
To make it easy for you, I compiled few simple diet rules that help you to cure acne:
Eat whole foods in their natural state. Especially eat lots of fruits and vegetables.
Avoid processed foods (full of chemicals and low in fiber and nutrients.
Avoid foods that cause acne. These are the most common foods that lead to acne.
Keep oils and other overt fats at minimum.
Following those simple rules you can avoid most of the dietary complications with acne.
No discussion about diet and acne is complete without the unhealthy friend objection. Someone inevitably points out that they have a friend who eats the unhealthiest diet but doesn't get acne. I cover the whole story at unhealthy friend objection page.
Finally, please remember that diet is only a part of the acne puzzle. Diet is often not enough to get you clear. Thinking you can cure acne with diet often leads to stress and frustration that may prevent you from getting clear. As this dangers of anti-acne diets article explains.

Acne and Accutane

Did you know that skin was the largest organ of the body? Your skin is vital to your whole body. The amazing abilities of your skin are often overlooked. Skin not only holds the body together but it also protects your body from harmful foreign substances, harmful bacteria, and ultra violet rays. Your skin is a two layer structure that is always regenerating itself . The epedermis is the outermost layer of the skin- the part you see. It is composed of dead cell with new living cell underneath them. The living cells move to the surface of your skin in a four-week cycle. Beneath the first layer, is a layer of skin called the dermis. The dermis is fifteen to forty times thicker that the epedermis. The dermis consists of collagen and elastis fibers. Your skin also contain various glands. The sebaceous glands are the skins natural oil supply. Although the sebum produced (oil) is necessary for soft, pliable skin, it also is the cause of the leading skin disease. Nearly seventeen million people in the United States have acne, making it the most common skin disease. Although acne is not a severe health threat, it can lead to permanent scarring, disfiguring, and can lead to lowered self-esteem.

Accutane:

Accutane sometimes known as a drug of last choice, is believed to reduce the size of the oil gland. Consistency in sticking to a basic skin care routine and use of over-the -counter products will help most people. Gels and solutions are alcohol based and tend to be better for oiler skin. Injections of carticosteroids drugs directly into the lesions may help reduce the size and their tenderness. Tetrycycline cannot be given to pregnant women or people under the age of twelve for various health reasons. The treatment of acne includes much more than the basic three step skincare. You should wash foundation sponges, blush brushes and any other makeup applicator as often as possible. Proper skin hygeine is essential for everyone regardless of their skin conditions. is a disorder of the skin's oil glands. Along with its cost, Accutane can cause sever dryness of the mucous membranes, peeling lips, muscle aches, photsensitivity, and sometimes mental depression.

How can i get ris of acne without drying out skin?!?!?

Applying lavander essential oil works wonders. I didn't really believe it until someone reccomded I try it instead of the standard on the shelf stuff.Besides that, I have found the following things matter and tend to effect acne.
1) Eating sugar (and artifical ones). If you eat no sugar your predispotion to acne drops a lot. Mine completely vanished when I did.
2) Eating greasy fried food (aka fast food). I noticed I was able to feel outbreaks coming on as I ate the stuff. I think sugar matters more though.
3) Getting rid of hair covering the face (so beards, sideburns, or long curly hair that gets to your cheaks). I don't know why this one matters but it does.
4) Washing the face with water from a shower. The more you wash it the better it gets. However, chlorine which is in all tap water irritates it as well, so if you get the chance to get a chlorine shower filter that goes a long way to fixing your skin (and hair). There are some other anecdotal things I am not sure of in anyway about acne, but I'd leave it as; if you are generally healthy then you will not get acne, so most of the time its best to just think of acne as an indictator for your body.

What is Acne?

Human skin consists of many tiny pores. These pores are connected to oil glands. Once these oil glands are blocked by the sedum or dirt substance and infected by bacteria, pimples will break out. Doctors always use benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid to kill bacteria in skin pores, and other pills are used to restrict hormone and oil secretion. Those all have some harmful effects on your body. In order to get ride of pimples, you must keep your face clean all times. You can try Chlorella Gel Cleanser. It is made of edible algae and contains vitamins, Carotene, chlorophyll, amine acids, proteins, SOD enzyme, alga polysaccharides . Chlorella Gel Cleanser can clean corneous cells, sebum, sweat, dust, and removes pimples quickly.

How to get rid of acne?

There are a couple of ways, depending on your skin type, here's an acne scrub that really helped my skin!Okay you'll need a little bit of original yogurt, green tea bags, honey, lemon or lime, salt, hot water.

Alrighty so first you make a cup of bowling water add a green tea bag, add honey into it, about 1 table spoon, let it dissolve and cool down.later add a bit of fresh lemon into it, about 3 teaspoons, than add about 1/2 table spoon of yogurt than put some salt in till it has some thickness. Stir it good and keep in a refrigerator while its being unused. And stop wearing make-up. If the scrub is too much and hurts you more, use a bit of lemon on your face, it helps prevent and sometimes gets rid of acne, but don't use a whole lot.

You can also use toothpaste to get rid of acne.

Check your food to see if anything you eat will give you oily skin or break-outs, heck it could be the make-up your wearing that give you acne. You can also buy a steam pore cleaner which helps open up pores and makes it easier to clean with regular store product cleansers (or you can get a hot bowl of water and put a towel over your head as the steam relaxes you skin and than use a cleanser)Also make sure you don't touch your face a whole lot, and do not pick at any of you zits (it just cause inflammation and spreads the bacteria), also remember to keep your hair away from your face as you cleanse and leave it that way if you can over night, or all day ( hair can carry natural oil that can irritate your skin enough to break out)I would look for pore cleansers and tighteners if you can. See also if you have dry skin or oily. Also getting sunlight will help your skin, just not to much. Also get Vaseline for overnight , it helps your skin and it quickly heals all those scabs you get with acne problems.
Hope this helped.

How does acne forem and How to get rid of it?

Blemishes are partially genetic, so don't worry about what your mom says about being dirty. If in fact you are washing your face very good, perhaps you are not using the right products. You also should be concerned about your nutrition because beauty comes from the inside out. If you eat alot of oily, greasy foods, you will break out, so nutrition is important. I am 35 and I still have outbreaks!I wash as required but beware of washing too much as this can rid you of essential oils and cause your skin to produce even more. But one remedy sure to work is rubbing alchol it has a chemical that breaks the skin barrier and killing all the dirt puss and reduces redness in about a day.

MILD TO MODERATE ACNE

Change your diet. Don't eat junk, oily, or fatty foods. Trust me it works. Don't eat milky products like butter, milk, cheese or anything similar. Only eat them once a week.Eat fish twice to three times a week.Eat a lot of fruit and vegies. Alot of leafy vegies. Nuts, almonds, peanuts, water, pumpkin seeds, rice, red herring, fish, tuna, chicken, turkey are a must to eat. Lay off the red meats as much as possible because they have acid fats in them. Drink lots of water. Exercise everyday. Clean your face, chest and back every morning and night. You don't need any chemicals for your skin you need to eat properly and the right things. Trust me i had bad acne on my face and when i started this need eating program it cleared up in weeks. It's hard to maintain but keep trying and it shall work.

EPDUIO IS GREAT FOR ACNE !!!!!!!!!!

Though It is pretty expensive, ( like 100$ a full size tube) personally, I think it's worth the price. It takes a couple of weeks to kick in, but it totally works! It helped eliminate acne from my T-Zone completely( I have mild-moderate acne) and for my sister it eliminated all of her acne completely (she has mild-heavy). The tube last long too, over 2 months. It's not covered by my insurance, I'm not sure about CareSource, but like I said, It's worth it.

HELP ACNE IS UGH!!!!

One of the first things to look at with acne is diet. Start by cutting out refined carbyhydrates - anything containing white sugar or white flour (studies have shown that in societies where refined foods are not eaten, acne is virtually unheard of) up your vitamin and zinc intake (fruits, vegetables, pumpkin seeds, nuts, shellfish, eggs) and drink plenty of water. This should make a fair bit of difference on its own.Skin treatments need to be kept as simple as possible- many of the harsh spot treatments sold (including those with tea tree oil which although useful for treating the odd blemish is pretty useless for full blown acne) just irritate skin. Use a gentle soap-free wash, rinse well, and moisturise with a small amount of aqueous cream. Try not to use too much make-up- it can clog the pores and make things worse. Its a good idea to exfoliate once or twice a week- use a scrub that says for "sensitive skin" rather than one for oily skin which tend to contain harsh products that can make the problem worse, and scrub gently, rather than scour! For a soothing treatment once a week, rinse your face with warm (not hot) strong chamomile tea and follow with a mask made up from one cup natural yoghurt to 3/4 cup ground oatmeal and leave on for ten minutes before massaging in gentle circular movements and rinsing off.If after six weeks you are seeing no improvement, chances are you have a hormonal problem and its worth speaking to a doctor about treatment.
